Weekly Match Reports - Winter 2026/27
(A big thank you to Jonny Peacock)

Table Top Competition (22nd October)

Winter is coming, the clocks go back this weekend, and British Summer Time will be officially over. And now some good news: we had a season-opening tabletop to get us started on another season of quizzing. Nine teams ventured out into the edge of Storm Austen brewing, for a convivial evening in the West End of Wild West Witney. Karen and Martin took control of the well-stocked bar and Jon Young of the White Hart Eynsham set 160 questions to sort of the best of the best from the rest of the rest in the west.

Congratulations to the winners, Ploughman’s Bunch! Final table:

1 Ploughman’s Bunch! 113½

2 Plough 113

3 Bletchingdon Nomads 107

4 Blackbird 100

5 King's Arms 99

6 Masons Arms 97

7 Chequers 90

8 White Hart 88

9 Windrush Club 85

Full round-by-round spreadsheet is also attached.
